Top Trucking Industry Headlines of 2014
We had a great 2014 here at iGlobal that included adding more jobs. We experienced a 30 percent increase in employees and have eliminated the need for truck stop scanning and company-paid cell phones, which is a tremendous savings to our customers. Additionally, we stuck to our roots and proudly design, develop, and assemble our product right here in the United States. With such a great year, we wanted to take a look back at the top trucking industry headlines of 2014.
Anne Ferro Resigns at Expedite Expo
Anne Ferro made the announcement to approximately 150 trucking industry representatives at the Expedite Expo.
The trucking community was altered when Director of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration Anne Ferro announced her resignation after addressing an audience at the Expedite Expo in Wilmington, Ohio on July 25, 2014. She made the announcement to approximately 150 trucking industry representatives at the Expo. Ferro, who had trouble finding allies in congress, pushed for stringent industry-wide regulations and many throughout the industry had called for her resignation. Her presentation at the Expo was not well received, as many industry professionals were tense when she talked about hot topic issues like hours of service, electronic logs and highway infrastructure. We debuted the audio messaging feature at the Mid-American Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky.
In March of 2014, we introduced audio messaging that would help fleets keep the lines of communication open. Our new audio messaging feature eliminated previous push-to-talk devices that many fleets relied on for communication. Audio messages play automatically in the cab for drivers to hear hands-free. In-Cab Scanning Gets Documents Processed Quickly
Transmitting documents with an in-cab scanner is just one of the reasons people relied on our MDTs in 2014. Here’s a few options we offer:
